Address
Le Refuge in Megève, an authentic Savoyard restaurant
Le Refuge is an establishment located in the heights, just above Megève, at an altitude of 1,500 meters.
Nestled in the heart of the slopes, Le Refuge has a breathtaking panorama. When you are up there, you feel like you are above the world... It is an ideal interlude to recharge your batteries, Le Refuge is located, so to speak, "in the middle of nowhere".
Le Refuge is designed like a chalet, with a large emphasis on wood, a noble material from the region.
Before bearing its current name, Le Refuge had other names: Les oursons or Le Chaudron. But it is really since the beginning of the 2000s that Le Refuge began to exist as it is today. Over the years, the reputation of this establishment has continued to grow.
Run for many years by Franck Soyer, who built the reputation of the establishment, Le Refuge is now managed by two men who are connoisseurs of the restaurant world. They are Fréderic Desmurs and Antoine Maillon who have worked in the very well-known restaurant, Chez Georges Blanc, which has several Michelin stars. This is the promise, for customers who come to discover Le Refuge, of a remarkable gastronomic moment.
The cuisine served by Le Refuge is a panel of what Savoie does best. Local products have a central place here and the most classic recipes are revisited with panache. The matured cheeses of our mountains stand alongside tasty meats, local charcuterie and tasty, gently simmered dishes.
Of course, the famous fondue is available on the menu, as is the tartiflette. The chefs at Le Refuge also like to create more contemporary dishes, but always by selecting fresh, seasonal and quality products.
The most discerning gourmets will appreciate this culinary discovery near Megève.
